Carla made Austin her home in the mid-1980's. Drawn by the vibrant music scene, she quickly settled into a series of singing roles in a variety of Austin bands. Following a number of local recording projects, Carla then focused her efforts on a combination of songwriting, live performances, and recording with some of Austin's premiere musical talent.

Her vocal style spans from a powerful bluesy-rock that can easily be compared to that of Bonnie Raitt, to a soulful rhythm and blues, to the toe-tapping newgrass sound. Her eclectic style enables her to reach across many genres.

Carla performed in the UK in Dec. of 2006 at the Famous Monday Blues Christmas Party with Silver Phil and Never the Bride.

The Gospel Bluegrass band Sealed and Armored was formed in late 2005 and covers songs from Berea, featuring the hit song "Frozen Lake" co-written and produced by Grammy award winner Brad Davis.

Carla has been busy most of 2007 preparing for the new CD that will be released in January of 2008 and has an Americana/Motown vibe.  All the tracks are original and created by collaboration efforts with Adam Whaley (from the Means of Production) during 2004 and 2005, and Brad Davis in 2007.

Omega Broadcast Group recently produced two HD videos for two of the new songs.  Go to Carla's MySpace page to see the Average Jo & Shatterday videos now!
